Replace your worn out, faded and cracked plastic OEM hood vents with these replacement hood vents for the Datsun 280Z. Improve the look and airflow over standard venting.

Sold as a pair.

"Based on the Bernoulli principle, the air flow over the top of the louvers will create a vacuum and pull the air out from under the hood. With the opening facing rearwards the air passing over the first one will suck air out through it, that air will be forced over the next louvre sucking air out through that, and so on."

They are .063" aluminum and are CNC cut with 10 louvers in each vent. Installation templates and hardware are included.

The installation video shows a discontinued hood vent with 6 louvers, but current production-spec hood vents have 10 louvers in each vent, as pictured.

NOTE: Use a gentle touch when installing - do not over-tighten.

We also offer S30 Race-Style Hood Vents.

*****

As many of you may know, only the 1977-78 280Z came with hood vents in the hood.

But from time to time, early model S30 owners reach out to us and ask if our 280Z Hood Vents will work for their earlier application. The short answer is, probably yes.

If your Z has the 77-78 280Z-style hood with hood vent openings, these 280Z Hood Vents will be compatible (take a look at the installation video to confirm your vent openings are OEM, feel free to email us with any specific fitment questions).

For owners with hoods that don’t have holes for hood vents, you'll need to do some cutting and drilling in your hood to install, but you can certainly use our hood vents.

Awesome Vents!

Very happy with the quality of Skillard products - and these vents are no exception. It would be nice if a fitment template for hood placement was included, however I didn't have too much trouble figuring out what would work for my 75 280Z. Only issue was the provided SS washers were the wrong size ID way too large - pic shows the SS fender washers I sourced, not those that shipped.

Hussein,

Thank you for your review of your hood vents! Appreciate the photos very much as well. Thank you for the washer ID feedback - we're checking our inventory and existing hardware kits to ensure others don't encounter the same issue.

Great fitment, great look

Love the look of these vents, especially how they sit flat to the hood instead of raised like the OEM style. Ended up filing out the middle hole to give myself a bit more wiggle room in terms of centering them, and they look fantastic!

They've held up great.

Great product, bought these years back in black powder coat when I restored my car. They are simple and look great. They've held up great.

Durable

I'm running a sbc single turbo and my temps under the hood is really hot. The hood vents came in today and they are really nice and durable. I will definitely buy from here again! Thanks

Fit and finish is clean

Like all Skillard products, the fit and finish is very clean. I only question why they went with 6 bolts instead of keeping it simple with the factory 4, which seem fully capable of securing the vents just fine. Needing to drill new holes into the hood seems unnecessary. Also, it's mentioned briefly in the install video, but worth an **extra warning** that it is very easy to over-tighten the nuts, causing dimples on the front! I thought I was being careful, but went a hair too far I guess. Doesn't look too terrible but hopefully future customers will heed the warning.

Thank you for the feedback! We found that in some cases, without the two center holes, that the hood vents didn't stay as flush as we would like. We also want to extend our appreciation to you for emphasizing the need to be cautious with over-tightening, and looking out for your fellow Datsun enthusiasts! - Skillard
