For all of you Datsun enthusiasts that are refurbishing the genuine long stock fender mirrors, you have probably run into the issue of rusted out under brackets that are necessary to secure the fender mirrors.
With the help of our friend and Z nut, David Palermo, we have developed a set of stainless steel replacement pieces to help with your mirror resto project.
NOTE: OEM mirrors are not included.
Our new brackets are stainless steel, so you won’t need to worry about them rusting in the future.
After cutting and forming, we have also wet-tumbled them to smooth the edges and produce a uniform metal finish.
Also provided by David are some average measurements that he was able to get for the mirror placement. Keep in mind that these measurements are just a reference and you need to assess where the mirrors fit best for your visibility and desired aesthetic.
You will be drilling your fenders at your own risk, of course, but we wanted to provide a guide with measurement suggestions that you can use as a starting point.
Right base forward to fender edge: 24.492 cm
Right base inboard to fender edge: 17.084 cm
Left base forward to fender edge: 24.546 cm
Left base inboard to fender edge: 17.161 cm
Our stainless steel under brackets are compatible with the OEM JDM long stalk mirrors. The mirrors can be installed on many types of vehicles, including the S30 chassis and the Datsun 510.
**Many of our products are in-stock. However, because all of our products are custom-fabricated, they may not be immediately available.
