Previously, the pods only needed to be opened up for other brands of gauges. On \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan class=\"s1\"\u003emy race car I run a front splitter which extends to the engine cross\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan class=\"s1\"\u003emember.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\"\u003e\u003cspan class=\"s1\"\u003e\"After mounting the diffuser, the car immediately has \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan class=\"s1\"\u003emuch more rear grip but understeers badly.  After playing with setup I \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan class=\"s1\"\u003efound that adding 3 PSI to the rear tires and setting the wing to zero \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan class=\"s1\"\u003edegrees (6 degrees without diffuser) balanced the car fairly well.  A \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan class=\"s1\"\u003ecomparison graph of the data of the best diffuser run vs. my previous \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan class=\"s1\"\u003epersonal best is attached.  The diffuser run was about 0.8 seconds \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan class=\"s1\"\u003efaster (1:45.0 vs 1:45.8) and about 5MPH quicker at the end of the \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan class=\"s1\"\u003elongest straight.  The car is still a little understeer biased so my \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan class=\"s1\"\u003emid corner speeds are a little off with the diffuser but I think with \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan class=\"s1\"\u003ea little more tuning I could get another half a second out of it.  I \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan class=\"s1\"\u003eam a staff instructor at this track and I have thousands of laps on \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan class=\"s1\"\u003ethis car.  Dropping 0.8 seconds in one tuning session is very \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan class=\"s1\"\u003eimpressive.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\"\u003e\u003cspan class=\"s1\"\u003e\"I'm very happy with how effective the diffuser is at adding rear \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan class=\"s1\"\u003edownforce while keeping the drag of the car low.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\"\u003e\u003cspan class=\"s1\"\u003e\"Thank you for making such high quality products for these old cars!!\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\"\u003e\u003cspan class=\"s1\"\u003e\"With your stock diffuser and a 3\" splitter the car is VERY balanced and easy to \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan class=\"s1\"\u003edrive at the limit. -- \u003c\/span\u003eSteve”\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cbr\u003eDiffusers are used in most racing venues and below is an excerpt from Wikipedia that describes the theory behind a diffuser.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eFrom Wikipedia:\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWhen a diffuser is used, the air flows into the underbody from the front and sides of the car, accelerates and reduces pressure.
